Hi Dr J, I know what you mean. I've had to move a lot over the last 10 years so it seems like when I do make friends, I'm always having to leave.  I have kept my inner circle of GF's going, but I think part of keeping and making friends is nuturing the relationships and giving them time, energy and care. I would recommend social clubs, organizations and seeking out things like classes or events where you know like minds may be. Live someplace too small? Create your own groups and clubs! I have a pal that started a book club and a running club - it's been great fun.
